The Royal Shortcut to Healthier Dog Meals
When you’re a dog mom like me, juggling a million things and still wanting the very best for your fluffy prince (aka Cyrus the Great 👑), you need a prep method that doesn’t steal your entire day. Enter: the slow cooker or Instant Pot. It’s my kitchen sidekick, and here’s exactly how I use it to batch-prep royal meals fit for a tummy like Cyrus’.

🥕
Why No Peeling?
Because Mother Nature knew what she was doing. The skin of sweet potatoes, carrots, and even beets holds most of the fiber and nutrients. As long as they’re scrubbed clean, we keep them on!
📋
Ingredients I Use (Mix & Match as Needed):
2 whole sweet potatoes (unpeeled, chopped)
4 carrots (unpeeled, chopped)
1 beet (washed, chopped)
1–2 cups of cooked rice or quinoa
1–2 cups of soaked beans (or lentils)
1 chicken breast or thigh (sometimes I add liver too for extra nutrition)
2–3 cups of filtered water
½ tsp turmeric
2–3 whole cloves
Optional: dash of coconut oil or parsley at the end for extra health + shine!
🕰
The Method – So Easy It Feels Like Cheating:
Toss everything into your slow cooker or Instant Pot.
Let it simmer for a few hours (low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours).
Once it’s cool, mash it slightly for consistency.
Freeze portions in reusable containers.
Store 2–3 days’ worth in the fridge—just scoop and serve!
🐾
Why Cyrus Loves It (and I Do Too):
✔️ No preservatives
✔️ Packed with fiber + real protein
✔️ Gut-soothing turmeric + cloves
✔️ WAY cheaper than boutique brands
✔️ Smells like you cooked for royalty (because you did)
