The Real Cost of Cheap Brows (And Why They End Up Costing You More)

Let me be honest for a second—not rude, not judgmental, just real.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with using Groupon.

I’ve used Groupon before… for massages, pedicures, oil changes, car detailing—

NOT for something permanent on my face.

And eyebrows?

Eyebrows are on your face.

Every. Single. Day.

So here’s the truth nobody likes to say out loud:

ree

Cheap brows are the most expensive brows you’ll ever buy.

People see a $150 microblading deal and think they “saved money.”

But what they actually bought is:

  • uneven brow shapes

  • wrong pigment that heals blue or red

  • damaged skin

  • thick, harsh strokes

  • asymmetrical arches

  • botched shading

  • bald patches

  • a year of regret

  • $2,500–$4,000 in laser removal

  • months of healing

  • AND THEN another $900+ for a real artist to fix the disaster

All because someone wanted a “deal.”

When I Became an Artist, I Learned Something Hard and Fast

When you pass your certification, that paper means NOTHING.

Absolutely nothing.

The real work begins the day after.

You’re not an artist because you got a certificate.

You’re an artist because you:

  • practice until your wrist aches

  • learn real skin vs latex

  • understand hair growth patterns

  • study facial symmetry

  • understand pigments

  • fix old work

  • learn the difference between “OK” and “this is excellence”

Before I ever touched a real human face, I spent over 500 hours practicing on everything you can imagine:

  • pig skin

  • bananas

  • apples

  • mannequin faces

  • latex pads

  • more latex pads

  • and more latex pads

Then I practiced until my strokes were consistent, smooth, soft, and intentional.

My $25 Craigslist Brows Story

Before I ever charged a real price, I posted a Craigslist ad offering $25 brow transformations.

THREE people showed up.

I gave all three flawless brows.

Not because I was “cheap.”

But because I respected the craft enough to pay my dues.

There is no world where a trained, experienced, seasoned artist charges $150 for brows.

No way.

Not in a million years.

If someone is charging that low, it means one of three things:

  1. They are brand new and practicing on you.

  2. They don’t understand the cost of quality pigments and tools.

  3. They don’t produce consistent healed results.

Your face deserves better than that.

The Day You Know It’s Time to Raise Your Prices

Someone once asked in a microblading group:

“How do you know it’s time to raise your prices?”

My answer?

**When you look at your before-and-after photos, smile to yourself,

and think:

‘This belongs at the top, not in the middle.’**

When your work gives you goosebumps…

when your clients cry happy tears…

when your brows heal beautifully…

that’s when you KNOW you’ve earned your price.

Not because you’re “expensive.”

But because you’re worth it.

So Why Do Cheap Brows Keep Happening?

Because many people don’t understand the danger of a bargain brow until it’s too late.

And when they’re finally frustrated, embarrassed, and desperate…

They come to me and ask for a miracle.

I always help.

But the truth is:

It didn’t need to get that far.

Final Thought: Your Face Is Not a Coupon Code

Use Groupon for anything you want:

massages, pedicures, movie tickets… go for it.

But when it comes to your face, your confidence, your appearance…

Don’t gamble.

Don’t bargain hunt.

Don’t hope for the best.

Choose someone who’s trained.

Someone who cares.

Someone who has put in the hours.

Someone who gives you the brows you deserve.

Because you’re not just paying for eyebrows.

You’re paying for skill, experience, honesty, and results.

And that’s priceless.
